God May Not Be Available

God may not be available

One common lie which  some parents teach their children that is not acceptable to God is to tell those who want to see them that they are not around when they are actually inside.

It is unfortunate that parents encourage such ungodly habit that may eventually live with the children through life.

It would be more appropriate for the children to use the term “not available”

which does not necessarily mean that someone is not present at a particular location but that such a person, for one

reason or the other, may not be able or interested in seeing or attending to the visitor or caller.

God is ever-present. But there may be a time He may not be interested in a availing people of himself.

Isaiah 55:1-7

1. Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

2 Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

3 Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

4 Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.

5 Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the Lord thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.

6 Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:

7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon

In verse 6 of the above text, the prophet encouraged the people to seek the Lord while he may be found and to call upon him while he is near.

Earlier in Isaiah 49 verse 8, the Lord Himself said “in an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped…. this was further reiterated by Paul in 2nd Corinthians 6 verse 2.

Now, is the time to call upon the Lord. He is very available now; all the prayers, praises and thanks offering can commence now.

Do not wait till the “crossroads” of life come before calling on Him. He may not be found then.

Prayer
Dear lord, give me a sense of timing in my walk with you and help me to activate the opportunities that I have with you… amen.

Shalom…
