Developers of critical thinking are people who always attempt to live rationally, emphatically and reasonably.
They are not ignorant of the inherent weak nature of human thinking when left alone or unchecked. Hence,Developers of critical thinking do not always act hastily.
Matthew 1:17-24
17 Thus there were fourteen generations in all from Abraham to David, fourteen from David to the exile to Babylon, and fourteen from the exile to the messiah.
18 This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit.
19 Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.
20 But after he had considered this, an ange of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”
22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23 “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”(which means “God with us”).
24 When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel(I) of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.
In verse 20 the Bible says “But why he thought on these things, behold the Angel of the lord appeared on to him in a dream…..”
Joseph was just a young man as we are, about to get married but has developed a good habit of critical thinking.
Joseph was reasoning in his mind, Whether to dismiss Mary publicly or privately considering what was most fit and proper to be done, He was not like some of the youth nowadays
who are so quick about everything in life without taking time to think Matters through
and ascertain the consequences, implications and complications of any decisions they are taking.
Joseph did not act as hastly. He did not take the course which the law would have permitted him to do, if he had been hasty
violent or unjust ,he would not have known the will of God and he would have probably destroyed and internal purposeful .
it was a case deeply affecting his happiness, his character and reputation and character of his choosing companion.
God will guide the thoughtful and anxious. And when we have looked patiently at a parplexed subject, and no not want to do, then God as in the case of Joseph will interpose to lead us and direct our way. Psalm 25 verse 9.
Only why he was consulting within himself that the glory of God, the peace of his own conscience and the credit of Mary, came together to give him the right decision.
Proverbs 14:29 “Je who is slow to wrath is of great understanding, but he who is Hasty of spirit exalt folly.
PRAYER
Lord, teach me to think before I act.
